New additions to Alabama Archives 1867 Voter Registration database

The Alabama State Archives has added several new counties to the 1867 Voter Registration database … the index is linked to the actual image itself. Everyone on the registration list had to swear an oath of allegiance to the United States . . . if they were of foreign birth other details regarding the country of origin and naturalization are noted as well.

From the archives website:

Alabama 1867 Voter Registration Records Database

Currently all entries for Wilcox, Winston, Walker, Tuscaloosa, Tallapoosa, Talladega, Sumter, St. Clair, and Shelby Counties are available
