Efforts to restore a historic Smithfield home

Efforts to restore the historic 100-year-old Smithfield home of A.H. Parker, the founding principal of Parker High School, have stalled. The house was designed by Wallace A. Rayfield, an early black architect whose work included Sixteenth Street Baptist Church.
