The Ancestry Insider posted a message today about a job opening the Generations Network, parent company of Ancestry.com, has in Montgomery, Alabama. The position would be working with the Alabama Archives “to digitize some Civil War records.”

This is great news for those of us researching in Alabama. I can’t wait until the the Alabama State Census records indexed as a part of the World Archives Project become accessible. When I checked last week they were 60+% complete… when I look today, they are no longer available for selection to index… will keep you posted!
