Jason Kirby will talk about sources available at the Birmingham Public Library (Southern History and Archives departments) dealing with Historic House Research. He will also walk you through the steps that he went through in getting a Jefferson County historic plaque for his house in Hueytown.
Linda Nelson will cover the role of the Jefferson County Historical Commission in dealing with historic structures and buildings, and bring her expertise is doing historic house and neighborhood research. She will also cover the application process for getting a historic plaque.
