Program Topic: Robert Jemison and the Development of Birmingham
Cathy Criss Adams has a B.A. with Distinction in English and Journalism, minor Political Science, from the University of Mississippi and was awarded the Department of Journalism’s Most Outstanding Graduate in 1972. She is active in several organizations in various capacities: Vice President, Redmont Neighborhood Association, Founding board member of the Birmingham Jefferson History Museum, Board member of the Oak Hill Memorial Association, Board member of the Birmingham-Jefferson Historical Society, Board member of the Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark, Board member of the Birmingham Historical Society, Vice-chairman, Jefferson County Historical Commission, Sustaining member, Junior League of Birmingham, Member, Independent Presbyterian Church, Past President, Redmont Park Garden Club, English Village Garden Club, Redmont Study Club & Who’s Who in America.
Ms. Adams is also the author of two novels and one non-fiction book, Worthy of Remembrance: A History of Redmont.
