When I became a member of the BGS Board a few years ago, I was made to feel welcome by all. But there was one lady who went out of her way to make me feel “included”. Today it is my sad duty to report to you all that Bettina Pearson Higdon Burns passed away on Thursday, February 14th. I have to admit I am a bit teary eyed as I write this post… you see Bettina was one of those almost larger than life figures… she had tons of energy and drive at 87… putting those of us younger than her to shame.
