Birmingham Genealogical Society offers free genealogy class at Iron and Steel Museum of Alabama Beginning and aspiring genealogists are invited to attend a free genealogy class at the Iron and Steel Museum of Alabama (located in Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park) on April 28, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. The class will be presented by the Birmingham Genealogical Society. Space is limited, so pre – registration is required. To register please email your name, address, and phone number to tannehillmuseum@bellsouth.netor call 205-477-5711 to register by phone. Admission to the class is free but visitors must pay Tannehill State Park’s gate fee of $3 for adults, $2 for seniors (62+) and $1 for children (6-11). Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park is 12 miles southwest of Bessemer. Off I-59/20 take exit 100 or off of I-459 take exit 1 and follow the signs to the park.
